Portal Overview

Welcome to the Whole Life Learning Center’s Whole Life Learning Portal! With this unique system, you’ll have access to a variety of lessons that each fit within the weekly themes of the Whole Life Curriculum.

How To Use The Portal

For each weekly theme, you’ll find a category in the Orange menu on the left hand side of the page. On each theme page, there are several categories of materials that will help you to implement the Theme into your lessons, such as: Theme Words, Music References, Quotes, Inquiry Prompts, and Additional Resources.

In addition to these Theme materials, every lesson has one or more lessons attached to it, which you will find in the dropdowns for each Theme. Typically, these theme lessons and their accompanying materials are written at a 9-10 year old learning level. If your learners are younger or older than this range, we recommend adjusting the lessons as needed. Many of the Mentor Guides will contain recommendations for making the necessary adjustments.

Mentor Added Documents

As educators, we realize that a system such as this can be made most effective when designed as a living, collaborative process which can be built together over time. Every lesson we create for our students give us, as educators, an opportunity to grow our lessons to be better the next time around. So, we’ve built a system for you to contribute to the curriculum your own lessons, quotes, materials and ideas.

At the bottom of each theme page and lesson page, you’ll find a “Mentor Added Documents” section, which contains two parts. The first section contains all of the materials submitted by other mentors. You’ll see who submitted it, when they submitted it, what type of material it is, and links to any documents that they submitted. The second section contains a link to a Google Forms spreadsheet, where you can make your own submission.

Canva

Creating powerful and impactful lessons is a tough job, and we want to make sure that you have the tools at your disposal to make it as easy as possible. You’ll notice that all of the Mentor and Student documents within each lesson are branded with custom WLLC letterhead. To make it easy for you to make your upcoming lessons and documents On-Brand for the Whole Life Learning Curriculum, we’ve set up a Canva Education system which give you access to their full Professional suite of tools. Additionally, you’ll have access to a Branding Kit and Templates so that you can create your lessons using the documents we’ve already created, or modify them to suit your student’s needs.

We’re still finishing this up, so once it’s done you’ll find a link here to access. When you sign up for Canva, just use your @wholelifelearningcenter.com email address to automatically gain access to the Pro-level features.
